Last Minute Christmas Gifts to Knit

There's no doubt that handmade Christmas gifts are the most special ones. Your loved ones will definitely appreciate the time and effort you put in to knitting a homemade gift just for them. Wool products are soft, cozy and warm—making them perfect Christmas gifts. Keep all your lil’ sheep comfy on those cold winter nights! With Christmas just around the corner, we decided to put together a wool gift guide to give you some last minute inspiration.

1. CC STYLE BOULDER BEANIE

Looking for a quick and easy copycat knit pattern for the ever popular “CC” beanies? We’ve got you covered. This pattern leads to a comfy & cozy beanie that any woman any your life will be happy to show off! This pattern is advanced beginner friendly, requires US10 (6.0mm) circular needles and approximately 117 yards of yarn. The pattern has been designed to fit average adult women but detailed additional notes are provided to assist in making a Child/pre-teen sized hat.

2. BABY BOOTIES

These booties are perfect for the littlest loves in your life. Have any leftover yarn? This is the perfect project to use that up, plus they are pretty easy to make. They are knitted flat on two needles and then seamed along the sole and up the back of the bootie. Short rows mean no picking up stitches across the top of the foot! Using different sized yarn and/or needles will make different sized booties – larger needles and/or thicker yarn will make larger booties and smaller needles and/or thinner yarn will make smaller booties.

If you’re wanting to whip up some other baby gifts, we have the 60 Baby Knits book in our online store or Toft kits and pattern books in our downtown Chelan store.

3. MITTEN GIFT TAG ORNAMENTS

Brighten your tree or gift wrapping with these adorable wool mitten ornaments. A lovely way to commemorate the passing year or for holiday gifts to friends and family. This pattern is perfect for a beginner to jump in and tackle, or for an advanced knitter to work up in a jiffy. With multiple ways to make this mini mitten, use varying yarn weights to get differently-sized ornaments. The back of the mitten has been left in stockinette stitch and is a great place to embroider someone’s initials or the current calendar year. Personally, we love it as a thoughtful way to use as a gift topper.

No matter who you’re knitting for this holiday season, we have everything and more you will need to accomplish the task at 3 Wild Sheep. We look forward to welcoming you in our downtown store or we invite you to shop online if you are unable to shop in person this year.
